Drodzy współpracownicy,
Ponieważ wakacje dobiegają końca, nadszedł czas, abyśmy wrócili do pracy. Mam nadzieję, że spędziliście cudowne lato, naładowaliście baterie i teraz macie energię, aby być aktywnymi i kreatywnymi.
Moje lato było przyjemne i relaksujące. Najważniejszym wydarzeniem dla mnie była wizyta w Pekinie w Chinach w czerwcu, gdzie zostałem zaproszony przez Beijing Perioperative Nurses Association do wygłoszenia przemówienia otwierającego na ich konferencji. Oprócz przemówienia otwierającego wygłosiłem trzy inne prezentacje na temat zapobiegania żylnej chorobie zakrzepowo-zatorowej (VTE).
Poproszono mnie również o wygłoszenie przemówienia na temat europejskiego pielęgniarstwa okołooperacyjnego. Biorąc pod uwagę szeroki zakres tego tematu, starannie rozważyłem, jakie kluczowe aspekty podzielić się z naszymi chińskimi współpracownikami. Moja prezentacja skupiała się na tym, co uważam za kluczowy temat: pielęgniarstwie okołooperacyjnym opartym na dowodach.
EORNA aktywnie opowiada się za praktyką opartą na dowodach. Publikacja „EORNA Best Practices for Perioperative Care” opiera się na badaniach i dowodach. Jak wiecie, pielęgniarstwo okołooperacyjne nieustannie ewoluuje wraz z postępem medycyny. Jednakże, ważne jest, aby szanować naszą dziedzinę poprzez prowadzenie badań specyficznych dla pielęgniarstwa.
Według EORNA, praktyka oparta na dowodach obejmuje integrację najlepszych dowodów naukowych z wiedzą kliniczną i wartościami pacjenta, aby pomóc w podejmowaniu decyzji klinicznych. Na sali operacyjnej, wiedza kliniczna pielęgniarki wynika z jej wykształcenia, roli i obowiązków. Pielęgniarki okołooperacyjne muszą brać pod uwagę stan kliniczny pacjentów, warunki, dostępne zasoby opieki zdrowotnej i odpowiednie dowody naukowe w swoich codziennych zadaniach.
Znalezienie najlepszych dowodów oznacza sformułowanie właściwych pytań i przeszukanie odpowiednich baz danych w celu znalezienia odpowiedzi. Pielęgniarki okołooperacyjne muszą ocenić zebrane dowody i podjąć najbardziej praktyczne decyzje, ostatecznie włączając te ustalenia do swojej praktyki.
Wielu z was wkrótce będzie miało swój krajowy kongres. Wydarzenia te stanowią doskonałą okazję do odkrywania nowych praktyk opartych na dowodach, wzmacniania istniejących i prezentowania nowych badań i projektów, które rozwijają pielęgniarstwo okołooperacyjne. Społeczny aspekt kongresu jest również istotny. Będziesz mieć okazję spotkać kolegów z różnych szpitali i oddziałów, dzieląc się doświadczeniami i spostrzeżeniami. Zachęcam wszystkich uczestników do poszukiwania innych pielęgniarek operacyjnych i kontynuowania nauki o praktykach w różnych warunkach klinicznych.
Jestem pewien, że doświadczycie niezapomnianych kongresów. Życzę Wam bogatego i pouczającego wydarzenia i czekam na spotkanie z niektórymi z Was na przyszłych kongresach.

Projekt MyOrco: poprawa opieki okołooperacyjnej w celu zapewnienia bezpieczniejszej opieki nad pacjentem
Projekt MyOrco zajmuje się rosnącym wyzwaniem na europejskich salach operacyjnych: niedoborem przeszkolonych pielęgniarek okołooperacyjnych, które muszą stawiać czoła coraz bardziej złożonym problemom bezpieczeństwa pacjentów. Pomimo dostępności specjalistycznych szkoleń, nie są one obowiązkowe w wielu krajach, co sprawia, że nowe pielęgniarki nie są przygotowane na wymagania sali operacyjnej.
Aby temu zaradzić, MyOrco opracowuje wielojęzyczną platformę edukacyjną zawierającą ponad 100 filmów na temat ergonomii praktyk na salach operacyjnych. Platforma oferuje dostosowane ścieżki edukacyjne według specjalizacji chirurgicznych, narzędzia do samooceny i szczegółowe profile, do których mogą uzyskać dostęp zarówno kierownicy sal operacyjnych, jak i pielęgniarki, aby zapewnić wysokiej jakości opiekę i bezpieczeństwo.
Wspierany przez konsorcjum europejskich uniwersytetów i stowarzyszeń zawodowych, MyOrco został zaprojektowany przez pielęgniarki okołooperacyjne dla pielęgniarek okołooperacyjnych. Dzięki realistycznym, opartym na scenariuszach filmom szkoleniowym stworzonym przez profesjonalistów z branży platforma pomoże płynnie zintegrować nowe pielęgniarki z salami operacyjnymi, jednocześnie zwiększając bezpieczeństwo zarówno pacjentów, jak i zespołów chirurgicznych.
Wspólnie dążymy do tego, aby środowiska chirurgiczne były bezpieczniejsze i bardziej wydajne w całej Europie.

Wiadomości z NAORN (Norweskiego Stowarzyszenia Pielęgniarek Sal Operacyjnych)

The Norwegian Association of Operating Room Nurses (NAORN) held its annual national congress on 5 and 6 September in Trondheim. About 200 participants, including OR nurses and industry, attended the congress .
This year’s theme: Operating room nursing, roles and responsibilities.
The common thread of the congress was different perspectives on task shifting. The director of a medium-sized hospital in Oslo spoke from a leader’s perspective. Edith Roth Gjevjon, Professor of Nursing at Lovisenberg University College, spoke from a nurse’s perspective. The patient’s needs and situation, required competence, available competence, responsibility, and patient safety should guide the task shifting. Edith is a very engaging speaker. She will also be a keynote speaker at the NORNA-congress at Island September 2025.
Two OR-nurses had interviewed colleagues about their experience with task shifting, as their master theses. We look forward to see the published scientific paper.
We had a panel conversation with five participants with different experience and perspective. Earlier we have had this discussion because of the lack of OR-nurses. The situation now is quite different. We educate over 200 new OR-nurses a year. The OR-nurses should tell and decide what tasks someone with a lower competence can do.
There were three OR nurses sharing their experience in working in a war zone, two from Gaza and one from Red Cross. It was very emotional to listen to them about their working conditions.
We also got an update on new antibiotic prophylaxis in surgery, research on positioning and adverse events, intraoperative time-out and patients' experience with the safe surgery checklist.
Networking and socializing are important during a congress.

Record-breakingly warm autumn greetings from Finland!🌞
We hope that you, the members of our colleague associations abroad, have also had a relaxing summer.
Our association's autumn season started on the closing weekend of the summer when we travelled to the Finnish archipelago for a membership event to spend time together, relax and admire the beautiful Baltic Sea and the lighthouse island Bengtskär. Home - Bengtskär (bengtskar.fi)

The arrangements for our associations study days in October are already in the final stretch, and we are hopeful that there will be a large number of participants. We are especially happy to enjoy the presence of some honorary members of our association at the event. In connection with the event, we will hold our association's annual meeting, and we are delighted to announce that EORNA President Jaana Perttunen will chair the meeting.
What else is in the pipeline at FORNA headquarters right now?
FORNA has signed a cooperation agreement with a major national health portal. The Finnish Medical Society Duodecim maintains a service called Terveysportti, which is a comprehensive database of research-based information in the field of healthcare. The perioperative nursing action recommendations produced by FORNA will be published on the portal later on this year.

AFISO webinars
AFISO organized a webinar on 11 September about sustainability in the operating room. The speaker, an anesthetist passionate about ecology, discussed the main pollutants within operating rooms (e.g., waste and anesthetic gases). She shared her experience in decarbonizing the operating room and the numerous challenges in implementing waste sorting. More than 130 operating room nurses participated in this webinar, which sparked many questions and also allowed for the exchange of good practices existing in some operating rooms.
The next webinar will take place (in French) on Wednesday, 16 October, 2024, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. The first speaker will discuss mentorship, and the second speaker will talk about the virtuous circle of resilience to cope with lateral violence. More information is available on the website.
Webinars help maintain the connection with our members between our annual conferences. It's an opportunity to get answers, ideas for solutions, but above all, to take the time to update one's knowledge and exchange with peers.
Following the elections in June, we are awaiting the formation of a new Belgian government. AFISO and VVOV will be particularly attentive to the developments regarding the issue of specialized nurses in Belgium.

- 18th Annual National Congress AEEQ
Preparation and organization of the 18th National Congress to be held in the city of Seville, 23-25 October 2024.
Under the slogan "The reflection of caring", attendees will be able to follow an interesting program starting with the inaugural conference by Mr. Patrick Voight, President of the International Federation of Perioperative Nurses (IFPN), who will highlight the Artificial Intelligence use in the healthcare environments. The conference will last 3 days; there will be 6 round tables with current topics such as the reprocessing of health materials, advances in robotic surgery or breast cancer and an exclusive table to discuss the rights of the patient, which we will have as a speaker a Magistrate of the National Court. These activities will be complemented by symposia, free communication tables, poster defence, video-technical sessions, and simultaneous workshops. The closing lecture will be given by military nurse commander Shelma
Hossain.
The abstract submission will close on September 15, 2024.
